The Ribosomal Proteins: Compilation of Protein Species Equivalents from Various Organisms, Based on Evolutionary Analyses

1993
From the view point of biological evolution, we have been interested in analyzing sequence similarities of ribosomal proteins (r-proteins) from various organisms. According to Doolittle (1981) the ultimate goal of the study of protein evolution is the reconstruction of the past events that gave rise to the vast inventory of proteins in existence today. In order to reach the goal, we believe that studying the r-proteins is a very attractive way.
