Acceleration of Gravity by Video Analysis

The free fall of a tennis ball is filmed and analyzed using the free software Tracker. The aim is to show that the experimental data and analysis are as good as the one obtained by commercial didactic equipment presented in the previous chapter. A detailed description of the setup needed to film the experiment is given as well as a careful discussion of the results. An interesting experiment involving the fall of a stone and a feather is presented, and the influence of the air resistance is discussed.
