Influência da suplementação com concentrado extrusado, rico em óleo, nos parâmetros hematológicos, biométricos e biomarcadores na digestão de potros (Influence of supplementation with rich in fat extruded concentrate over the hematologic, biometric and biomarkers parameters in foals)

2012
The addition of concentrates rich in oil in the diet can increase the energetic density securely in horses. The study aimed to evaluate the effects of the supplementation with extruded concentrate, rich in oil, on foals. The eight foals, tested were under a similar nutritional management. For the experiment 2,0 kg of a commercial concentrate was substituted for 0,50 kg commercial extruded concentrate rich in oil during 60 days. Blood samples were collected at a pre-test period and in the intermissions of 20, 40 and 60 days of replacement. The blood analyzes (WBC, RBC, HGB, HCT, MCV, MCHC, PLT, RDW-SD, RDW-CV) were performed and the determination of body mass, the biochemical blood analyzes (URE, AUric, ColT, TRIGL, Ca, P and Mg) were performed, also determining the PPT and fibrinogen. The results showed only significant variation in total white blood cell count (WBC) (P 0,05), except for the trend in variation the mean gain in body mass of approximately 250 g/day and the trend in variation of the phosphorus (P=0,07). In conclusion, the addition of concentrated extruded with high percentage of oil can be used for foals without producing negative effects on the hematologic, biometric and biomarkers parameters even though it promotes an increase in the availability of lipids in the blood of the animals.
