The Associative Dictionary as a Model of the Linguistic Picture of the World

Abstract This paper presents the results of the analysis and synthesis of materials of the large-scale free associative experiments with participation of the native Russian speakers. It contains data on both direct (from stimulus to response) and inverse (from response to stimulus) links between words. The methodology of compiling the Associative Thesauri of Russian and English languages based on a psychological perception of consciousness units linked in the human psyche is described.
