Polymorphism of CAPN3 gene and correlation analysis with meat quality traits in cattle

In this study,CAPN3 gene was detected by PCR-SSCP and sequencing for searching SNPs in Chinese red steppes,Simmental,Limousin and Tianyigangshan black cattle.Correlation between CAPN3 gene's genetic polymorphism and meat quality traits was analysed with SPSS software.The result indicated that a SNP(G→T) was found at 46 414 bp(NC_007308) in Chinese red steppes and Tianyigangshan black cattle.Furthermore,the individual of different genotype had significant deviation on marbling,water lose rate,drip loss and shearing force.However,this mutation was not found in Simmental and Limousin.
