PLIF (Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion) for Spondylolisthesis. Comparison of Reduction group and In-situ fusion group

Twenty cases of lumbar spondylolisthesis were treated by PLIF with Steffee VSP system, 9 cases with reduction and another 11 cases with in situ fusion.Clinical results were evaluated using the JOA assessment criteria and sagittal translation, Slip angle, and fusion rate were evaluated radiographically.Angular correction of local kyphosis and complete union were considered to be achieved from radiological findings in each group. Clinical results were satisfactory in all groups, however temporal neurorogical complications were experienced in 3 cases in the reduction group.
