PCB, DDT, and benzo(a)pyrene in raw and pan-fried white croaker (Genyonemus lineatus)

1983
Contaminated white croaker (GENYONEMUS LINEATUS) were caught from waters of Santa Monica Bay and Orange County, California, in 1981. Samples were panfried and analyzed for PCBs, DDT, and benzo(a)pyrene (BaP). Pan-frying of Orange County samples reduced total DDT by 39% and total PCBs by 28%; Santa Monica Bay samples had a 74% reduction of DDT and a 65% reduction of PCBs. BaP was below detectable limits in all cases. (JMT)
