A Disk I/O Performance Specific Analysis for the Real/Write Ratio and Block-Size Variation
2014
In this paper, we are analyzed the performance of HDD and DRAMSSD about Disk I/O block size and Read/Write rate in block device level. HDD has a characteristic that Data block size of maximum performance is different about Read/Write rate. Otherwise, SSD has a characteristic that Data block size has nothing to do with Read/Write rate. Accordingly, HDD must be defined with Block size depending on Read/Write rate to obtain maximum performance. but SSD has nothing to do with Read/Write rate.
