Function and ingenuity pathway analysis of prostate cancer-specific genes

2014
Objective To explore the related functions and pathways of prostate cancer-specific genes. Methods Tissue samples of prostate cancer were collected for gene-chip microarray analysis.Genes with a fold change≥1.5 that reached the level of statistical difference (P≤0.05) were tested by Ingenuity Pathways Analysis (IPA) to identify all the functions and pathways of the differential expression. Results A total of 769 up-regulated genes and 675 down-regulated genes were identified by gene-chip microarray analysis.Ten pathways related to most significant differential expression of genetic functions were also revealed. Conclusions Our findings provide candidate genes for prostate cancer, which may be helpful for future exploration of novel tumor biomarkers, risk factors and therapeutic targets. Key words: Microchip analytical procedures;  Gene expression;  Prostatic neoplasms
