Ship Collision Response Analysis using FSI Analysis Technique

Structural safety assessment was performed for the collision accident of specialized ship structure and its cargo. To ensure reasonable and reliable safety assessment, accurate and correct full-scale ship collision simulation was carried out, using FSI (Fluid-Structural Interaction) analysis technique of LS-DYNA code and propulsion force instead of velocity in collision simulation. Diverse scenarios were tried for the conservative safety assessment, and specialized ship was found to be superior to the crashworthiness of ship collision due to the wide side double hull space.
