An additional drug repurposing study for hidradenitis suppurativa/acne inversa.

2020
Current transcriptome and proteome studies have identified differentially regulated genes and proteins in hidradenitis suppurativa/acne inversa (HS), both in entire involved skin1 and in involved skin apocrine glands.2 Such studies may provide relevant data for identification of druggable molecular targets leading to novel therapeutic compounds or repurposing of already registered drugs in HS. Indeed, computational drug repurposing screening methods using DNA microarray datasets have already been used to identify existing compounds as potential drugs for targeted diseases, including dermatologic conditions.
