The invention provides a method for updating frames of an electrophoretic display panel and an electrophoretic display device thereof. The method comprises the following steps: dividing gate lines of the electrophoretic display panel into a first part and a second part, wherein, display data of pixels coupled with the gate lines of the first part do not need to be updated, and display data of at least one pixel in the pixels coupled with each gate line of the second part need to be updated; then providing each gate line of the first part with a first type grid impulse, and providing each gate line of the second part with a second type grid impulse, wherein, the second type grid impulse has a preset impulse width, and the impulse width of the first type grid impulse is less than the preset impulse width.
