Study on the Detection Technology of Curable Coating Proppant in Fracturing

As the main fracturing material in oilfield fracturing construction, the quality of fracturing proppant directly affects fracturing effect and well production in later stage. As one of the newly developed products, there is no corresponding testing methods or technical indexes for the curable coating proppant at the present time. In this paper, laboratory tests and mechanical principles are integrated, and testing items such as thermal tensile strength, curable melting point, compression strength and friction rate are introduced. In addition, a high-temperature and high-pressure core-making device and a friction device that are well suited to curable coating proppant were designed and constructed for the test. The work of this paper provides technical support for the testing of the quality and performance of curable coating proppant products, and establishes a set of testing standards for coating curable proppant products.
