Effect of calcium and boron modified on the structure and hydrogenolysis performance of CuO/Al_2O_3 in catalyzing sec-butyl acetate

2014
CuO/Al2O3 catalysts modified by calcium oxide and boron oxide were prepared by impregnation.XRD,TPR,BET and NH3-TPD methods were used to characterize the catalysts of CuO/Al2O3.The results showed that boron oxide acted as both structural promoter and electron promoter in CuO/Al2O3 catalysts.Boron oxide could modify the interaction between copper oxide, which is conducive to the disperse of copper oxide and stability of CuO species. The acidity of catalyst reduced with calcium oxide added.By using the catalysts modified with boron oxide and calcium oxide with a weight loading of 10% CuO,the conversion rate of sec-butyl acetate was up to 99.5%,whereas the selectivities for sec-butyl alcohol and ethyl alcohol were over 98.9% and 97.8%,respectively.
