Design and Implementation of Stainless Steel EMI Compliant Enclosure for Wireless Communication System

2018
The environment around us is full of electromagnetic radiations emitted by electronic products. It is necessary to design the electronic products compatible with EMI/EMC standards before they are being used in the market. To reduce the effects of the radiation, devices need to undergo EMI/EMC testing. In this paper Radiated Emission testing of Wireless Agricultural Motor Control System has been done. The system with and without enclosure has been tested in the EMI chambers for frequency range 150 KHz to 2.5 GHz as per CISPR 25 Automotive standards. The shielding enclosure of Stainless Steel of the thickness 1 mm and dimensions of 215×255×35 mm has been chosen for the system. It is found that there is 12–20 dB reduction in emissions due to the proposed mitigation technique. Hence with the implementation of SS Enclosure, Wireless communication system is found to be compatible with CISPR 25 EMI/EMC standards.
