Infrastructural provision and organization of production on the basis of the Internet of Things

Abstract This chapter discusses the problem of infrastructural provision and organization of production on the basis of the Internet of Things. The authors determine the essence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (transition to Industry 4.0) and its specific features, as compared to previous industrial revolutions. The advantages of automatized production on the basis of the Internet of Things under machine control (artificial intelligence) as compared to modern mechanized production under human control are substantiated. Based on the concept of the Internet economy, production and distribution processes in these types of industrial production are modeled. Differences in infrastructural provision of the distinguished types of industrial production are determined with the help of structural and functional analysis of this provision in view of human, financial, transport and logistics, fuel and energy, marketing, technological, technical, and information and communication infrastructure. The deficit of infrastructural provision of industrial production on the basis of the Internet of Things is analyzed. The authors develop a mechanism for overcoming the deficit and development of infrastructural provision of production on the basis of the Internet of Things.
