The invention discloses a method and a system for overall color matching of an image. The method comprises the steps of acquiring an original image; receiving a color matching instruction of a user, and the color matching instruction is used for color matching of the whole area of the original image; calling a corresponding functional module according to the color matching instruction; receiving a color matching parameter output by the user according to the functional module; and performing color matching of the whole area of the original image according to the color matching parameter. According to the embodiment, in a red green blue (RGB) or HSL/HSV color space, RGB component adjustment, chroma adjustment, brightness adjustment, saturation adjustment and/or modification white balance of the image are performed, and the overall color matching of the image is achieved rapidly.
