Microfiche in Educational Settings.

1976
If one were asked to christen the post-war years in education, it could well be called the pictorial age. Children are surrounded by pictorial images from the moment their eyes open. The press features young babies being exposed to the flickering images of the television set as a means of keeping them quiet. Around their early years are posters encouraging their avarice, film shows to occupy their Saturday mornings and television to while away their evenings. Parents now take still and cine cameras on. day trips and holidays to record their discoveries and the family sitting amongst historic foreign ruins. The results are used to enthrall the family in nostalgic winter evenings, or bore and impress the neighbours.
