Units For Fighting Against Mobbing (Psychological Harassment) In Universities Of Turkey

2016
Mobbing, also known as psychological harassment in the workplace is expressed as suppressing the individual in continuous and systematic manner by compelling actions at work. The awareness of mobbing has been increased by numerous ways such as written-visual media, case studies, trainings and seminars in recent years. There are duties of individual, community and organizations in terms of fighting. In particular, the Functioning, Rules and Principles of Units for Fighting against Mobbing established in Turkey were examined in this study and the weaknesses and necessary regulatory recommendations were discussed over unit instructions. Looking at the instructions and studies it can be assumed that inadequate knowledge about functions of units, lack of information about mobbing, lots of anticipation from units may indicate that structures of units are unfunctional. Therefore, increasing the number and function of Mobbing Fighting Units that will activate at universities would be an important gain for awareness of public and prevention of mobbing attempts.
