Oropharyngeal Teratoma: Prenatal Diagnosis and Assessment Using Sonography, MRI, and CT with Management by Ex Utero Intrapartum Treatment Procedure

2004
ropharyngeal teratomas are rarecongenital tumors with an esti-mated incidence of one in 35,000to one in 200,000 live births [1]. We present acase of an oropharyngeal teratoma identifiedby an elevated level of maternal serum α -feto-protein at 16 weeks with sonographic diagno-sis at that time. The tumor was bilobed; itoriginated in the oropharynx and protrudedthrough a distended jaw into the amnioticfluid. This report describes serial imagingstudies during the pregnancy including sonog-raphy, MRI, and CT with delivery by the exutero intrapartum treatment (EXIT) procedure.
