Preparation of pyridyl disulfide-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles and application in traceless isolation of thiol-containing proteins

Abstract Thiol-reactive group - pyridyl disulfide functionalized magnetic nanoparticles were prepared via co-precipitation following functionalization by stober method. The particles were characterized and employed to fast and selective conjugate and isolate protein with free thiol from mixed proteins under mild condition. And the released protein has the original sulfhydryl group without any unnecessary modification.
