The invention relates to a method for facilitating regeneration of a degraded populus euphratica population in an extremely arid region, in particular to a method for regenerating the degraded populus euphratica population in a desert riparian forest in the extreme arid region. According to the method, an artificial catchment and ponding area is created through manual fine adjustment of the forest terrain of the populus euphratica population according to the breeding regeneration opportunity and rule of populus euphratica under the consideration of the characteristics that runoff yield under excess infiltration and water accumulation can be realized through highly-centralized precipitation events in the extremely arid region and that the populus euphratica population regeneration environment can be locally improved. A forest wet island is formed by using precipitation, and seed traps and seed enriched ponds are formed by properly replenishing water to cells by means of ecological water and underground water at the seed rain period of the populus euphratica, so that the forest wet-island effect is enhanced, the forest upper-layer soil moisture condition and population regeneration environment are improved, the regeneration probability of the degraded populus euphratica population is increased, and the regeneration of the populus euphratica population is facilitated.
