Effect of nanoadditives on the kinetics of CaSO4 · 2H2O formation and the mosaic structure of crystals

2015
The effect of nanoadditives on the fine structure and formation kinetics of CaSO4 · 2H2O crystals has been studied by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The results demonstrate that the formation of gypsum dihydrate occurred most actively in a material containing microadditions of nanotubes. The calcium sulfate dihydrate crystals had a mosaic structure. The hydration of gypsum hemihydrate containing microsilica additions led to the formation of the smallest crystallites of a new phase.
