The Health Care System of the Federal Republic of Germany

1986
In every country probably, the health care system and other social systems are less an effect of a response to objective needs than of historic development. The historic development of the F.R.G. was profoundly determined by her central location in Europe. It shaped the structure and functioning of the society that we find there today. While in the North there is a fecund and flat country which supports large estates, the South is characterized by hilly and mountainous sites where people had to toil hard for their lives. In addition, all areas were again and again swept by successions of tribes of different origins in the past.
