The invention discloses a method for detecting meso and racemization of molecules by means of circular polarization laser pulses. The method comprises the following steps that firstly a molecular sample is pretreated, so that the molecular sample is directionally arranged along the laser light field; secondly, levorotatory circular polarization laser pulses and dextrorotatory circular polarization laser pulses are used for acting on the pretreated molecular sample respectively, then higher harmonics are generated, and the strengths of all orders of higher harmonics are obtained, wherein the strength of the ith order of higher harmonics generated by the levorotatory circular polarization laser pulses is Sl(i), the strength of the ith order of higher harmonics generated by the dextrorotatory circular polarization laser pulses is Sr(i); thirdly, according to the Sl(i) and the Sr(i), the levorotatory circular polarization laser pulses and the dextrorotatory circular polarization laser pulses are calculated to obtain the difference quantity of the strengths of the higher harmonics, whether the difference quantity is greater than a threshold value or not is judged, if yes, the molecular sample is a mesomeric sample, and if no, the molecular sample is a racemic sample.
