Analysis of Ionospheric Parameters in Europe and Creation of the Prediction Algorithm

Abstract : Investigation of the correlation and gradient characteristics of the basic parameters of the ionospheric profile (foF2 and H'F) and Maximum usable frequency (MUF(3000)F2) were estimated for the aim of the creation of ionospheric model for HF radio predictions and communications. Ionospheric data on European sounding stations (Digisondes) spaced at the distances of 1000 to 1100 km from each other were used for the period in one year from September 1990 to October 1991. Various diurnal and seasonal dependencies for all characteristics considered were obtained.
