Analysis of influence factors on germination rate and growth of sugarcane "healthy seed".

【Objective】The effects of different sugarcane varieties,seed coatings and storage periods on growth and development of sugarcane "healthy seed" were analyzed in order to provide theoretical support for research and application of sugarcane " healthy seed " technology. 【 Method 】 By using sand culture experiment, the germination rate, plant height and false stem diameter of sugarcane "healthy seed" were measured under different treatments of sugarcane varieties,seed coatings and storage periods. 【Result】The results showed that different sugarcane varieties presented different germination rates,plant height and false stem diameter. Among the 4 varieties,GT28 was found to has the highest germination rate,plant height and false stem diameter,which were 69.5%,13.7 cm and 4.92 mm,respectively. Different kinds of seed coating treatments could significantly improve the germination rate of sugarcane "healthy seed",but it had no obvious effects on plant height and false stem diameter. Compared with other kinds of seed coating,the triticonazole seed coating treatment presented the highest germination rate,higher plant height and thicker stem, while the imidacloprid seed coating treatment showed the lowest germination rate,shorter plant height and thinner stem. The germination rate of sugarcane "healthy seed" decreased with the prolongation of storage periods,and the "healthy seed"stored for 2 days had the highest germination rate(83.6%). When stored for 10 days,the germination rate of "healthy seed "dropped to less than 50.0%. 【Conclusion】The germination rate of sugarcane "healthy seed" are of significant genotype difference; proper seed coating could increase the germination rate of sugarcane "healthy seed" and promote its growth; the germination rate of "healthy seed" are affected by storage periods significantly.
