A new way to look at multiples: the power of image

2020
Abstract Early and accurate perinatal diagnosis is essential in multiple gestations due to higher risks for both the mother and the fetus. Ultrasound (US) was the first diagnostic modality to allow anatomic and functional evaluation of the developing fetus. It has since evolved both in imaging quality as well as in its support features: Color Doppler, power Doppler, and 3D imaging. MRI has more recently emerged as a valuable adjuvant, especially for CNS evaluation, overcoming some of the limitations of US. The combination of these techniques with computer associate design and 3D printing now allows for more precise fetal surgery planning and more effective parental counseling.
