Synthesis and Characterization of Polyimides Containing Imidazole Ring and Investigtion of Membrance Applications

In this work, synthesed and characterized diamine monomer DAPYBBI contining bi benzimidazole ringes based on pyridine according a article. We used model reaction to examine the reactivity of DAPYBBI monomer functional groups in direct dianhydrides .Then DAPYBBI diamine was used for reaction with different dianhydrides to preparation poly(imide-benzimidazole)s. Formation of polyimide structure was shown by FT-IR spectroscopy. Some of the physical properties of synthesized polymers such as solubility, viscosity and thermal properties as well as film formability were also investigated.
