The role of additives in the electrodeposition of nickel-cobalt alloy from acetate electrolyte
2007
Abstract Nickel–cobalt alloy have been deposited from acetate electrolyte containing any one of the additives such as, saccharin, dextrin, 1,4-butyne diol, Coumarin, 1,3-naphthalene sulphonic acid, formaldehyde, Glycine, crotonaldehyde. Then evaluated the cathode current efficiency and throwing power of the bath. Hull cell studies, Haring and Blum cell studies were used to optimize the plating bath. Microhardness values are increased in presences of additives. Corrosion behaviour of the nickel–cobalt coated mild steel specimens was also monitored.
