ADAPTATION ANALYSIS FOR YIELD AND ITS ATTRIBUTES IN CHICKPEA (CICER ARIETINUM L.)

2007
Fourteen chickpea genotypes were sown at three agro-climatic locations for two years. Pooled analysis of variance and deviations revealed significant differences among genotypes for the characters. Genotype × environment (linear} variance were significant for days-to-maturity, plant height, seeds plant−1 and harvest index. Cultivars JG-74, JG-218 and IG-370 were found suitable for poor-environment, high-yielding environment and wider adaptability over environments, respectively. On per se performance basis, cultivars ICCV-2, JG-412 and IG-226 were found suitable for Indore, Dhar and Jhabua conditions, respectively.
