(α, n) Neutron Spectra on Thick Light Targets

Accurate data on the neutron yield and data on the energy spectrum of neutron radiation are needed in order to develop methods for the safe handling of fresh nuclear fuel, irradiated fuel, and other nuclear materials, which may include light elements. Here we present (α, n)-reaction spectra, tabulated (normalized to 1) and calculated using the NEDIS2.0 code with evaluated cross sections for thick targets from Li to K for the most characteristic α-emitters 234U, 239Pu, and 241Am in nuclear fuel.
