In Venezuela in recent years, Distance Education Mediated by Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) has acquired importance as a valid alternative to bring training processes to all sectors of the population regardless of geographical location and time, and respond to the needs of the Society. This university transformation demands organizational changes in the structure and management of the institution that entails systematizing and regulating this development of the educational modality to unify criteria at the national level in favor of academic quality and to favor its adoption. This article presents the Regulatory Framework in Venezuela on Distance Education in Universities and details the particular case of the Distance Education System of the Central University of Venezuela.
