DAMPAK EL-NINO 1997-1998 PADA OZON TROPOSFER TROPIS DI INDONESIA

The effects of El Nino in 1997-1998 on tropical tropospheric ozone was analized, especialy in Indonesia, by using in Situ data from observation of ozonesonde for the period 1996-1998 at Watukosek and J.Zienmke (1998) data for shift in minimum tropospheric column ozone from west to east over Pasific during October 1996, 1997, and 1998, and the comparison of the effects of 1997-1998 El Nino on both trophospheric ozone and water vapor in tropis area (15 degree N - 15 degree S and 60 E- 60 W), October 1997 minus October 1996. The effects of 1997-1998 El Nino over Indonesia produced large increases in tropospheric ozone. These increases appear to be caused by the combination of a shif in dynamical transport and subsequent change in ozone photochemistry in the region
