PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a lead frame for mounting an LED element having a high reflectance, preventing deterioration of insulation properties due to ion migration of silver used as a reflection layer and conductive layer, also having a high resistance against corrosive gas, and capable of suppressing deterioration in reflectance due to pileup of the copper when there is copper below the reflection layer.SOLUTION: In the manufacturing of a lead frame for LED for mounting an LED element, a lead frame 10 having a mounting surface for mounting the LED element of the lead frame 10 is prepared, a silver reflective layer 13 is provided as a reflective layer containing silver or a silver alloy on the mounting surface side of the lead frame 10. Subsequently, a protection material 14 is formed so that a part of the silver reflective layer 13 is exposed and the grain boundary of silver, exposed to the surface of the silver reflective layer 13, is reduced by the partially covered part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
