HYBRIDANLAGEN—BURG AUF FEHMARN UND PELLWORM

1994
The paper describes 2 renewable energy systems, one on the island of Fehmarn in the Baltic Sea and the other on Pellworm, off the Northsea coast of Germany. The Fehmarn system includes a 140 kW PV generator combined with a 250 kW windmill and a 30 kW combined heat and power system. The latter consists of a Diesel set driven by a biogas unit. The biogas is produced in the sewage plant of the island. The hybrid system of Pellworm has a total capacity or 1 MW, 600 kW photovoltaic and 400 kW windpower. The paper describes in particular the power management and control system which has some very innoative features and optimises the overall energy production. The recorded energy produced and its consumption patterns are presented.
