Fuzzy Modelbuilding for Forecast Tasks of Large Rivers

Abstract The development of a uniform methodology for forecasting discharge and water level of large rivers constitutes an important problem of operational hydrology. The method of fuzzy sets is suitable for modelling such large systems as a whole. For this, two fuzzy models are presented. These models setup have been successfully applied to the Elbe River in different versions for discharge and water level.
