β-Cyclodextrin and Methacrylic Acid Octyl Phenols Poly(ethylene oxide) Ester Modified Acrylamide Polymer for Enhancing Oil Recovery

Allyl-β-cyclodextrin and methacrylic acid octyl phenols poly(ethylene oxide) ester were prepared, and both of them were utilized to copolymerize with acrylamide to synthesize the novel acrylamide polymer (AM/A-β-CD/AE) through aqueous redox free-radical polymerization. The structure of polymer was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Subsequently, a series of experiments was carried out to investigate the temperature resistance and salt tolerance of AM/A-β-CD/AE. The results showed that AM/A-β-CD/AE possessed better temperature resistance and salt tolerance than polyacrylamide. The superior properties of AM/A-β-CD/AE indicated its potential application for enhancing oil recovery in the high-temperature and high-mineralization oilfield.
