L'indiscipline au travail : Une marque de compétence ?

2002
The application of discipline in the workplace is ambiguous. Behavioural norms are applied to employees with regard to their dress, to the way they express themselves, to working hours and to absences, etc. but at the same time the application of discipline is the result of an arbitration among individuals : respecting an order or not is a voluntary and resolute choice. This arbitration is related to the perception of advantages and inconveniences that can be derived from a situation where the rules are observed or not. The aim of the paper is to show to what extent discipline is structuring, constraining and at the same time a choice. Indiscipline reveals an ability which one demonstrates in a system where others are observing his behaviours. These statements concerning discipline are argued using a state of the art literature supported by field data
