Microwave synthesis and fluorescence property of pyridylbenzimidazole

The 2-(3-pyridyl)benzimidazole and 2-(2-pyridyl)benzimidazole(C12H10N3) was synthesized by the reaction of o-phenylenediamine with picolinic acid under microwave,in the presence of polyphosphoric acid(PPA) as the catalyst.Its pureness and structure was characterized by the melting point,elemental analysis,IR and 1H NMR.Moreover,the optimum condition under microwave radiation were explored,and to study photoluminescence character of title compound.
