Analyzing Inpatients Status in Certain Community Health Service Center in Shanghai

OBJECTIVE Grasping the inpatients'status of disease spectrum,the number of days in hospital,hospitalization costs disease outcome in certain community health service centers;and providing references to better conduct the work of community health services. METHODS The data of inpatients hospitalized in certain community health service centers from 2011 to 2012 was analyzed.RESULTS The total number of inpatient was 2 258,mainly aged 60 and older(68.7%).The inpatients'diseases were mainly acute bronchitis, chronic bronchitis,pneumonia,cerebral infarction,acute respiratory infections,tumors and cerebrovascular insufficiency.The median of the number of days in hospital was 7.0 days.The median of total hospital costs,medicare reimbursement,pocket costs were 2 582,2 043 and 521.94.0%of inpatients discharged from hospital for condition improved.CONCLUSION The inpatient of certain community health center were mainly the elderly patients.Respiratory system,cardiovascular,cerebrovascular diseases and cancer were the inpatients' major diseases,so community general practitioner should raise the level of prevention and treatment of these diseases.
