Performance Evaluation on Low Energy Consumption Devices Powered by Indoor Perovskite Solar Cells

2021
Perovskite solar cells (PSC) demonstrate good performance in an indoor environment and this feature can be used for powering indoor sensors. Since indoor light is not always available, the sensor should have backup energy storages. The charger circuit model allows performance optimization for batteries and photovoltaic (PV) cells so that a cost-effective condition can be achieved for powering practical devices. This paper presents the performance evaluation of fractional open-circuit voltage (FOCV) maximum power point tracking (MPPT) charging circuit under indoor conditions. Simulations were done for 0.03, 0.07, 0.15, 0.25, 0.40, 0.70 and 1.00 sun irradiance as a preliminary study.
