Nörogenez İnsanlarda Hayat Boyunca Devam Eder mi

2020
Neurogenesis refers to the growth and development of new neurons. Although previously, it was thought that neurogenesis seen only developing organisms, latest researches discovered that neurogenesis continues throughout the life in both vertebrate and invertebrate animals. In the adult brain, new functional neurons from the neural stem cells are produced throughout the life. In human being, new neurons are produced in dentate gyrus of the hippocampus from early period to adulthood. In mammals, adult neurogenesis is limited with two regions. One of these regions is subgranuler zone of the dentate gyrus (DG) in hippocampus, and the newly formed neurons make a short migration from here to the granular layer of the hippocampus. The other is the subventricular zone (SVZ) of the lateral ventricles, and immature neurons produced here migrate to bulbus olfactorius under the name of rostral migratory stream.
