Sequence valve provided in the fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine

1998
(57) Abstract: The fuel injection system includes a low pressure pump for extracting fuel from the tank is supplied from the low-pressure pump, and a high-pressure pump with a pump element of the camshaft actuated. Sequence valve (16) is at the inflow side (inflow hole 49) is connected to the discharge side of the low-pressure pump, the outlet side (outlet holes 47), while the and is connected to the camshaft chamber of a high pressure pump and the other (outflow hole 48) are in connected to the suction side of the low-pressure pump. Valve plunger (34) which is spring-loaded in the sequence valve (16), as compared to the released and the first pressure threshold the connection between the low-pressure pump and the camshaft chamber at a first pressure threshold releasing the connection between the discharge side and the suction side of the low-pressure pump in the second, higher pressure thresholds. Bottom (53) to provided a throttle bore of the valve plunger (34) (54) serves to vent the low pressure system. The present invention is applicable to direct injection diesel engines.
