2020
In this paper, the crime data of the Yi nationality in the city are randomly selected and the phenomenon is described statistically by means of economic method. The statistical research shows that most of the Yi people who commit crimes in the city are the floating population with low education and incoming level, and the crime category of which is the against property. Through correlation analysis, the result displays that the floating population of urban minority with low education level is positively correlated with high crime rate. Typically, the correlation between the urban minority floating population with lower education level and its economic status is positive too. However, the economic status of urban minority floating population is negatively correlated with the crime rate. Those correlations are also valid when it comes to urban Yi floating population. Thus, for the criminal imagination of the urban Yi floating population, there may be some correlations between education, incoming, and crime. First, the lack of vocational skills due to the lack of good education leads them into poverty. Then, in order to satisfy their basic needs, such as food and clothing, they take risks and choose crime to satisfy their needs. On the basis of above results, the relevant government departments can further reduce the crime rate of the urban Yi floating population by ensuring the implementation of nine-year compulsory education and legal education in Yi inhabited area. The specific methods can include provide vocational skills training to the urban Yi floating population working in cities, and expand the coverage of the social security system for urban Yi floating population to meet their basic living needs.
