ポリビニルアルコール(PVA)ナノ繊維不織布セパレータを用いたリチウムイオン電池の特性

2012
Micro porous nonwoven as separator for lithium ion battery has been developed using electrospun polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) nano-fibers with diameter of around 250 nm. The PVA nonwoven showed higher porosity, lower Gurley value and better wettability in an electrolyte solution than polyolefin micro porous membrane separator. The nonwoven was electrochemically stable in the voltage range of 3 to 4.5 V vs. Li+/Li on a cyclic voltammetry measurement. In spite of its high porosity and low Gurley value, any internal short circuit was not observed for cell using it during charge-discharge test. The cell also showed better cycle stability and rate capability than that using a polyolefin one, which could be attributed to low Gurley value, high porosity and better wettability of the PVA nonwoven.
