Evaluation on Coordinate Development for Urbanization in Population and Land of Chongqing

On the basis of generalizing the connotation of urbanization,the authors have designed the indicator systems of urbanization in population and land of Chongqing.Then,the coordinated development degree has been accessed according to the coordinated development model in the case of Chongqing by scrutinizing the data from 1997 to 2009.With calculations,we find that the indexes of urbanization both in population and in land are in a trend of continuing upward,and that the growth rate of land urbanization index becomes faster than ever before.And in 2008 land urbanization index has surpassed population urbanization index.During this period,their coordination level is also gradually increasing.In 1997,Chongqing came to the stage with the extreme uncoordinated development,but in 2009,Chongqing to the stage with the high-quality coordinated development.
