An approach to integrate patient, pharmacist and quack physician in managing covid19 pandemic in bangladesh: A cloud based health management systems

Background and Aims As a developing country Bangladesh faces challenges in terms of resilience in its health system to manage COVID19 patients successfully Pharmacists and quack physicians (also known as village doctor) are the front-liners of mass population healthcare, functioning by nonstop drug dispensing, pharmaceutical counseling and care even in lockdowns The aim of the study was to introduce a competency framework and an ICT based management system for pharmacies to detect COVID19 suspected patients and accumulate key information in big databases linked to central cloud of architecture Methods Following guidelines provided by Bangladesh Pharmacy Council (BPC), we evaluated the pharmacy practices in current pandemic context in Bangladesh as well as reviewed extant literatures that explored pharmaceutical care A well-known method called “Architecturally Significant Requirements (ARS)” was used to design the COVID19 based health architecture that satisfies significant requirements for a system architecture development Results The framework illustrated how a pharmacist and quack physician can take part in early COVID19 detection First, the specific and standardized question items of the framework for distinguishing suspected and their contact tracing have been established Then a first ever reference COVID19 based architecture was developed to incorporated the suspect’s details into the database The proposed cloud based health architecture accumulates the personal details and relevant data obtained from the suspected patients Following screening through the framework, the obtained information is registered, stored and updated regularly into health database to strengthen the health systems Conclusions Pharmacist, quack physicians and suspected clients will be integrated together for an end to end self-adaptive pandemic management by resisting the spread of corona virus, and can be an active participant in the community to combat COVID19 pandemic in Bangladesh
