Modelling Trace Element Transport

1989
Modeling of trace element concentrations and deposition can be used both to assess their input to ecosystems and also to infer source-receptor relationships for other components. For diagnostic studies of source-receptor relationships, and to assess the magnitude and spatial distribution of unknown trace element emissions, receptor models are being employed. Receptor models are statistical tools which take advantage of physical and/or chemical characteristics of observed aerosols to infer source-receptor relationships (Gordon, 1980).
