CARACTERIZACIÓN DASOMÉTRICA DE TRES RODALES SEMILLEROS DE ESPECIES DEL GÉNERO PINUS EN EL ESTADO DE GUERRERO, MÉXICO Dasometric characterization of three seed stands of Pinus species in Guerrero state, Mexico

In Mexico there is a need for seed quality, to ensure greater success in restoration programs and generate alternative income to the owners and holders of forest land. The aim was to establish three seed stands of Pinus tenuifolia, P. pseudostrobus and P. michoacana, located in the town of Chilpancingo and General Heliodoro Castillo Guerrero state. The seed stands are among geographic coordinates: latitude N 17o 44' 59.90” and 17o 10' 38.09 W longitude and 99° 58' 54.40" and 99° 49' 50.85" at altitudes of 1 300 to 2 220 m exhibitions NE, NW respectively and slopes of 10 to 40%. It has an area of 10 ha each. A total of 29 seed trees were selected: 12 correspond to P. tenuifolia (41%), 7 P. pseudostrobus, (24%) and 10 to P. michoacana (35%). Woodland characterization dasometric threw ages of 38 to 46 years, with DBH of 39.7 to 53.25 cm, height of 20.2 to 37.7; clean bole height from 11.2 to 22 m, and a cup size from 8.5 to 11.49 m. The species that had the highest number of trees was P. tenuifolia. The good seed stands have dasometric features that ensure seed production for several years, and will be a source of immediate seed to support reforestation programs and quality germplasm estimated between 3 and 5%.
